Project Description

‘Marrungba’ meaning ‘make well’ in Gattang language is a healing painting. It was selected as the winning imagery for the 2016 Aboriginal Health & Medical Research Council’s Chronic Disease Program and Conference.

The Marrungba Story

The centre concentric circles represent the AH&MRC Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease Program, and the outer surrounding circles represent Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and other organisations.
Together they symbolise the conference and a gathering to build partnerships and raise the awareness and prevention of chronic disease in Aboriginal people.
The green extended arms and the white connecting dot and line work symbolise networking and communication between organisations.
Colour variations of green were utilised as the main colour theme to represent healing and harmony, along with black to symbolise change and strength and contrasting white for growth.
